Resultrix transitioned its robust on-premises infrastructure to the AWS cloud to drive operational agility and scalability.
Challenge
On-premises IT faces several challenges, including resource management inefficiencies (e.g., 20-30% of IT budget wasted on underutilized infrastructure), slow and costly scalability (with provisioning cycles taking weeks and over provisioning reaching 40%), limited geographic reach impacting service delivery times by 20-50% for remote customers, and the significant cost of ensuring data security and compliance (10-15% of IT budget allocated annually).
Solution
Our solution involved deploying and configuring AWS native services across all customer accounts, beginning with the rehosting of their application infrastructure. This included provisioning and configuring network components, key services like EC2, Load Balancers, RDS, and IAM, and setting up RDS instances with table replication for on-premises databases using Native Log Shipping or S3 Integration facilitated by private connectivity. We efficiently replicated data onto customer EC2 clusters, accommodating data migration from both existing and on-premises sources. The customer's application team then conducted data validation, activated essential services, performed comprehensive performance testing, and conducted a final cutover to AWS.
