Challenge

The customer faced several challenges in their on-premises environment, including slow and costly scalability, limited geographic reach, concerns around data security and compliance, and high costs associated with disaster recovery and redundancy. These challenges hindered operational efficiency, restricted business growth, and increased the risk of service disruptions.

Solution

The migration process involved a phased approach. AWS native services were deployed and configured across all accounts, commencing with rehosting of the application infrastructure. Network components were provisioned and configured within the AWS account. Key services, including EC2, Load Balancers, RDS, IAM, and others, were provisioned and customized for the customer's infrastructure. RDS instances were set up, and table replication for designated on-premises databases was established through Native Log Shipping, facilitated by Private Connectivity or S3 Integration. Data was efficiently replicated onto customer EC2 clusters, accommodating data migration requests from both the existing platform and on-premises sources. The application team conducted thorough data validation and activated essential services on the migrated cloud server. Comprehensive performance testing was executed. Following successful testing, a cutover was performed on one or more application clusters on AWS. Finally, a full cutover was initiated, followed by a return to normal operations.
